Here's the secret code to getting holiday sex
It's the holiday fun that can be kept secret at work. Swedish couples arrange sex meetings at campsites and beaches. The code for the initiated: A red ribbon on the sun lounger or caravan. - You want to spice up your holiday with something other than the usual, says Lasse, 45.
The sex network aims for couples and singles to meet in the middle of summer Sweden. They arrange meeting places over the phone, or on the Internet, and meet at campsites, in caravans or on beaches.
Lasse, 45, works in healthcare. He and his partner Stina, 43, who is a salesperson, are one of the couples involved in the movement.
- It starts to boil a little more in people when it becomes more casual outside. This is how it looks almost every year. You try to fit some events into your holiday, says Lasse.
Red bands on the caravan
Lasse has met people at campsites and beaches many times. His swingers club has developed a signal that speaks to like-minded people - people who want to have group sex, watch others do it, switch partners or have anonymous sex.
It is about a red ribbon, which is placed visibly. On the sun lounger or beach bag.
- I've had a caravan that we renamed the "bus wagon". On it we put red ribbons that fluttered in the wind. Then you can approach each other in a completely different way, says Lasse.
At work, the members of the networks keep their interests secret. Because of the Swedish double standards when it comes to sex, according to Lasse. When the meetings take place, the participants do not want the uninitiated to discover them.
- We have several times organized so-called "sex on the beach" meetings. Then you lie and sunbathe on the beach. In the evening, a grill is brought out. Then you gather and have a lookout so that there are no children or clothed people who come upon you, says Lasse.
"You are quite exposed"
Katerina Janouch, sex counselor, wants to emphasize the importance of thinking about safety in cases where anonymous meetings are concerned.
- If you are alone in contexts like this, you are quite vulnerable. At the same time, risk-taking is part of that whole cult. You are looking for the adrenaline rush.
She continues:
- Then you can always disturb others. If you want to be taken into account, you have to make sure you are far from civilization.
"It happens in several places"
Jonas Bengtsson, chairman of RFSU Malmö and the man behind the swingers club Lustkammaren, is well aware of the phenomenon of Swedes meeting at campsites to have sex.
- It happens in several places that are near open baths. But it doesn't happen in the same way at ordinary, organized naturist baths, he says.
