Aftonbladet: The summer's hot sex trend – dogging

Dog job to find a partner?
Dogging is the new sex trend.
Strangers have sex in public - and no, no animals are involved.
In forests, in parking lots and in parks, the new trend can be seen.
Dogging comes from England and has since spread across Europe. Strangers meet online and decide the time and place to have sex in real life. Preferably as public as possible and sneak peeks are welcome.
The word dogging is said to come from those who claim they are "going out with the dog" when in fact they are out on a completely different matter.
Meet on the internet
- People in all ages have had sex in public, but the internet has made it easier to get in touch with others who want the same thing, says Tore Runnerstam, project coordinator at RFSL in Skåne.
In the Skåne region, you can clearly see the trend that people love the outdoors. There are therefore staff near the love lane who can assist with condoms and good advice.
- We are often very close, we see traces of where people have sex somewhere. We meet and see about 5,000 people a year having sex this way - just in our areas. The majority think it is good that we are in the corners, but we make the place public, says Tore Runnerstam.
Looking for kicks
Meeting points and networks for dogging can be found all over Sweden. Aftonbladet's sexologist Linn Heed believes that dogs get a kick out of the anonymity of having sex with a complete stranger in a public place.
But the free attitude to sex is not appreciated everywhere. Many take offense and the act can result in fines for outrageous behaviour.
- For an adult who is afraid of himself and protects himself, it's okay. But you have to remember that sex in public can cause offense and that there is always a risk to have sex with a stranger, says Linn Heed.
